Whale Shark Tour - late March to July
Coral Bay is one of the only places in the world where you can actually swim and snorkel with the whale sharks - the world’s biggest fish. It certainly is an experience of a lifetime and the main seasonal attraction for guests from all over the world. We’ll take you on a journey that you will never forget.
The spacious vessel, Kai Aura, with its roomy downstairs and upstairs, luxurious interior, 360 degree visibility from the wheelhouse, on board shower and 24 inch flat screen TV with DVD player - to just mention a few - will make your trip most comfortable.
Whale shark season in Coral Bay is usually from April to July following the mass spawning of coral in the Ningaloo Marine Park. These massive filter feeders can grow up to 18m long, but very little is known about the biology of these creatures so research is ongoing.
As we are relying on Mother Nature, we are unable to guarantee that you will see a whale shark on your tour. However we can guarantee that our greatest efforts will be made to ensure you have a wonderful day.
We have a spotter plane searching for whale sharks to increase sightings. If you do not see a whale shark on your first tour we will offer you a free repeat on our next available tour (this offer is open for two years after your first trip).
The Whale Shark Tour will require confident swimmers and snorkelers. You are swimming in the open ocean and therefore experience is necessary for your enjoyment. (Minimum age to swim with whale sharks is six years.)
