MASTER 5 SKIPPER

We are currently looking for two Master 5/MED2 skippers to fill senior roles within our company.

 

The successful applicants will be able to operate and manage all aspects of the companies' relevant vessels, crew, and customer safety, to join our team of marine tourism professionals on a minimum 12 month contract, but preferably longer (2-3 years).

 

​The roles will involve skippering Whale Shark and Humpback Whale tours on our 18m vessel, as well as days skippering the reef exploration/manta ray tour vessel in a respectful, professional manner (training provided). You will be also be responsible for maintaining and updating records as per AMSA requirements, coordinating and achieving maintenance and upkeep of the vessels, as well as annual refit works, working with a team of other skippers & crew.

 

​The successful applicants will ideally have at least 3 years experience Master V in varying ocean conditions, with some previous tourism experience.

 

​To be successful in this role, you will be adaptable, friendly, conscientious, a good communicator, have sound organisational and mechanical skills, and be able to work both independently and in a team environment to ensure a smooth operation of daily tours with guests of varying ages and abilities, in varying weather conditions. Sound mechanical boat knowledge, strong vessel handling skills, and excellent interpersonal relation skills are essential.

Accommodation is arranged by the employer, at cost. No pets allowed. 

Above award wages. Each position also includes the prospect of promotion with the option of either Casual or Full time employment.
